July 4th weekend full of activities in Branch County communities

Independence Day celebrations are a big deal in Branch County communities. Many towns and lake communities offer opportunities to gather and celebrate this weekend.

July 2

  • Coldwater Lake Association will serve a pancake breakfast 8-11 a.m. at the association building. Fireworks are launched from barges at dusk.

  • North Chain of Lakes Association will host a boat parade at 11 a.m.  Rain date is Sunday.

  • Palmer Lake Floatilla is 6 p.m. "Broadway Musicals" is the theme. Colon fireworks are at dusk.

  • Gilead Lake, Bronson, fireworks are at dusk.

July 3

  • Quincy — Marble Lake fireworks at dusk.

  • Union City — 2 p.m. golf cart and pet parade downtown. At 6:30 p.m., Grammy nominated musician, Mark Bishop, will be in concert at the amphitheater — a free community concert. Field games for youth are 7 p.m. at the high school followed by fireworks at dusk. 

July 4

  • Quincy — 11 a.m. parade downtown. The Quincy Historical Museum opens 10 a.m. and Friends of Quincy Library will hold a fundraiser selling full pies at $10 each at the museum.

  • Coldwater — Fireworks, dusk, Heritage Park.
