This July 4th weekend, here's where to watch fireworks shows in and around Jacksonville

The city of Jacksonville is shooting fireworks from five locations on July 4, but those are hardly the only fireworks shows planned. Weather permitting, the night skies around Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia will light up with celebratory fireworks shows over the long holiday weekend.

Here's where you can celebrate America's 246th birthday with parades, watermelon eating contests, car shows and some big booms.

Saturday, July 2

• Lake Butler Rotary Club 2022 Independence Celebration Event: Saturday at Lake Butler Lakeside Park. Bass fishing tournament, 9 a.m. classic car show, fireworks at dusk.

• Fireworks and Family Fun: 6 p.m. at the Northeast Florida Fairgrounds in Callahan. Combined celebration with Callahan and Hilliard with live music, food trucks, fireworks at 9:15 p.m.

• 2022 Independence Day Celebration: 5 p.m. at Memorial Park in Macclenny. Live music, vendor booths, fireworks at 9 p.m.

• Our Country Day: Saturday at Keystone Beach in Keystone Heights. 5K run, parade, baby crawl contest, live music, watermelon eating contest, fireworks at 9 p.m.

Sunday, July 3

• Fireworks Over the Runways: 4 p.m. Sunday at Flagler Executive Airport in Palm Coast Fireworks at 9 p.m.

Monday, July 4

• Fourth of July Fireworks Celebration: 9:45 p.m. at Riverfront Plaza, FSCJ North Campus, The Avenues mall, Trinity Baptist Church and Ed Austin Regional Park. The city of Jacksonville is spreading out its fireworks displays this year, with five locations. A concert and festival starts at Riverfront Plaza (the former Jacksonville Landing site) at 4 p.m.  Other locations are the FSCJ North Campus at 4501 Capper Road, The Avenues Mall at U.S. 1 and Southside Boulevard, Trinity Baptist Church at 800 Hammond Blvd., and Ed Austin Regional Park at 11751 McCormick Road. The Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp will also set off fireworks at 121 Financial Ballpark following their 7:05 p.m. game against Norfolk. Riverside Arts Market will hold a viewing party under the Fuller-Warren Bridge off Riverside Avenue from 6-10 p.m., with food trucks and live music from Ciaran Sontag and LPT.

• American Pride 4th of July: 6 p.m. at Moosehaven in Orange Park. Food trucks, live music, free parking, fireworks over St. Johns River at dusk.

• Fireworks over the Matanzas: 6 p.m. at Castillo de San Marcos in St. Augustine. Live music from the All-Star Orchestra at Plaza de la Constitución, fireworks over Matanzas River at 9:30 p.m.

• 4th of July Hometown Celebration: 4 p.m. at Fernandina Harbor Marina in Fernandina Beach. DJ, food trucks, fireworks at 9 p.m.

• Jacksonville Beach 4th of July Fireworks: 9 p.m. at Jacksonville Beach Pier. "Test shot" at 8:45 p.m., fireworks at 9 p.m.

• Food Trucks and Fireworks: 7:30 p.m. Monday at Russell Baptist Church in Green Cove Springs. Fireworks at dusk.

• Independence Day Festival: Monday at St. Marys Waterfront Park in St. Marys, Ga. 5K and 10K races, vendor booths, live music, fireworks at dusk.

• St. Simons Island 4th of July Celebration: Monday at Pier Village on St. Simons Island, Ga. 5K run and festival 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., fireworks at dusk at Neptune Park.

• Old Fashioned Fourth of July Celebration: Monday at Mary Ross Waterfront Park in Brunswick, Ga. 10 a.m. parade on Newcastle Street, fireworks at dusk.
