'Junction,' movie shot and produced in RI, opens Friday. Here's how to see it.

EAST GREENWICH − "Junction," a movie produced by East Greenwich-based Chad A. Verdi and shot in Rhode Island, hits the big screen this weekend, as well as being available for streaming.

The movie looks at the opioid crisis in America from three vantage points: a patient's, a doctor's and a pharmaceutical company executive's.

Bryan Greenberg, who starred in the two-season-long HBO comedy "How to Make It in America," wrote, directed and stars in "Junction."

The movie also stars Sophia Bush, best known for her nine seasons as Brooke Davis on the drama "One Tree Hill" on the WB; Greenberg's wife, Jamie Chung, who voiced Go Go in "Big Hero 6" and played bride-to-be Lauren in "The Hangover Part II;" and Josh Peck, a star of Nickelodeon sitcom "Drake & Josh."

Verdi, president and chief executive of Verdi Productions, also has producing credits for the Martin Scorsese film "The Irishman" starring Robert De Niro, Al Pacino and Joe Pesci; 2023's "Johnny & Clyde," starring Megan Fox, Tyson Ritter, Avan Jogia and Ajani Russell; as well as the biopic about boxer Vinny Pazienza, "Bleed for This."

How to see 'Junction'

It plays Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 4 p.m. at Apple Cinema in the Warwick Mall.

"Junction" is available for streaming on Prime Video.
