Juneau County Sheriff's Office looking for missing New Lisbon woman

NEW LISBON − The Juneau County Sheriff's Office is asking for help finding a 43-year-old New Lisbon woman who has been missing for more than two weeks.

Leya Marie Stewart was last seen at 2 p.m. July 4 near 43rd Street and 19th Avenue in the Juneau County town of Lemonweir, according to a Sheriff's Office news release. She was last seen wearing black shorts, a dark-colored tank top and no shoes.

Stewart has long brown hair, is 5 feet 2 inches tall and weighs about 143 pounds. It's possible she was under the influence of a controlled substance when she was last seen, according to the release. The Juneau County Sheriff's Office used a drone and ground searches in the area where Stewart disappeared, but they haven't found her.

On Wednesday, the office sent out a statewide notice.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Juneau County Sheriff's Office at 608-847-5649 or email sgoyette@co.juneau.wi.us.
