BTS member Jungkook’s hit single “Seven” made Spotify history by becoming the fastest song to reach 1 billion streams.

Making history: Spotify announced the news on X on Tuesday, noting that the single, which was released on July 14, reached a billion streams on the streaming platform as of Monday (Oct. 30). Jungkook's song achieved the milestone in just 108 days, surpassing Miley Cyrus’ 112-day record for her single “Flowers.”

About the song: “Seven,” which features American rapper Latto, previously debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart and No. 3 on the Official U.K. Singles Chart, marking the highest-charting debut by a solo Korean act. Jungkook became the first male artist from any country to surpass 15 million first-day streams on Spotify and only the second overall following Taylor Swift.

The 26-year-old artist also bagged a historic win with “Seven” as the first K-pop soloist to secure the “Song of the Summer” award at 2023 MTV VMAs, beating artists Beyoncé, Doja Cat, Olivia Rodrigo and Taylor Swift. “Seven” has officially been added to Spotify’s Billions Club, which features tracks with over a billion streams.
