Junior golf: Little Crow's Coahran is in a 4-way tie for first place

Jul. 26—SPICER — Peyton Coahran is in a four-way tie for first place after the first round of the Minnesota Golf Association's State Junior Boys Championship.

Coahran shot a 2-under-par 70 Monday at Little Crow Country Club, Coahran's home course.

The 2022 New London-Spicer High School graduate is tied with Rylin Petry of the Legacy at Cragun's, Andrew Ramos of YOC Minnesota and Jake Birdwell of TPC Twin Cities.

There are 19 golfers within four strokes of the lead and 139 who completed Monday's first round.

Players begin teeing off at 7 a.m. Tuesday for the tournament's final round. Coahran has a 1:30 p.m. tee time.

"Obviously, I really want to win this week," Coahran told Nick Hunter of the MGA. "It would be great to end my junior career with a win. I've been looking forward to this one all summer for sure."
