Jurassic Quest interactive dinosaur exhibit returning to Des Moines next year

Ever wanted to ride a dinosaur? Meet a baby triceratops? Or dig for fossils?

You'll get your chance from Feb. 9-11 when Jurassic Quest makes a visit to the Iowa Events Center in Des Moines. Tickets for the prehistoric weekend are on sale now.

The show's organizers say the show's animatronic herd represents species from 165 million years of the Triassic, Jurassic and Cretaceous periods, when dinosaurs "ruled the Earth!"

What is Jurassic Quest?

Jurassic Quest says it has worked with paleontologists to give its life-size dinosaur models "realistic likenesses, movement and sound." It has toured since 2013, attracting some 10 million people in more than 250 cities across the United States and Canada.

It has previously visited Des Moines several times, beginning in 2016.

In addition to attractions offered in previous visits, the show this year will feature more hands-on activities, including an expanded fossil-digging station, more Jurassic-themed rides and inflatables and the addition of the utahraptor, a large, bird-like dinosaur, and giganotosaurus, one of the largest known carnivorous dinosaurs, to its animatronic herd.

From dino rides to fossil digs to meeting baby dinosaurs, there is something for everyone at Jurassic Quest's dino exhibit.
