Jury selection begins in Roger Stone trial

Longtime advisor to U.S. President Donald Trump, Roger Stone, arrived to both cheers and jeers as his trial began Tuesday.
Stone is the second in a long list of people indicted from Robert Mueller's Russia investigation to plead not guilty. Paul Manafort, Trump's former campaign chairman, was convicted by a Virginia jury last year and is now in a federal prison.
Stone is charged with lying to Congress, obstruction of justice and witness tampering.
Prosecutors say he lied about his communcations with WikiLeaks, which published emails embarrassing to Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton.
Intelligence officials say the emails were stolen by Russian government hackers.
A self-described "dirty trickster," Stone has been a Republican operative since the days of Watergate. He has a tattoo of Nixon's smiling face on his back, and often sports the former president's signature "victory" pose. He's been a friend and ally of Trump for some 40 years.
The trial is expected to last at least two weeks, with opening statements as early as Wednesday.
