With just a handful of days before the 2022 midterm elections end, a new Des Moines Register/Mediacom Iowa Poll will share the results of a head-to-head matchup between U.S. Sen. Chuck Grassley, a Republican, and retired Navy Admiral Mike Franken, a Democrat.

The first results from the October Iowa Poll will be published online at 5:30 p.m. Saturday at DesMoinesRegister.com. The results will also be published in the Des Moines Sunday Register.

The poll also tests Iowans' opinions on the governor's race, in which Republican Gov. Kim Reynolds faces Democrat Deidre DeJear and Libertarian Rick Stewart, as well as the attorney general’s race between incumbent Democrat Tom Miller and Republican Brenna Bird and likely voters’ party preferences in Iowa races for Congress.

The poll also will gauge which issues Iowa voters believe are critical in this election.
