‘It just doesn’t make sense.’ Falmouth police search for missing 44-year-old man.

It has been almost a month since 44-year-old Adam Wacholder of Falmouth was last seen, and the Falmouth Police Department has issued a missing person alert, according to the department’s Facebook page.

Wacholder suffers from mental health conditions and epilepsy, and is likely running out of his medication, his mother, Peggy Lynn, said Monday. She and concerned friends will soon begin putting up physical posters around the Cape, she said, with a $1,000 reward for any information leading to his location.

Despite his conditions, Wacholder has learned to be very capable and independent, Lynn said. He worked a part-time job at Stop & Shop in Falmouth and has lived alone for around a year.

“He managed to build himself a good life down there,” Lynn, who lives in Harwich, said. “So it just doesn’t make sense for him to disappear out of nowhere.”

Falmouth resident Adam Wacholder, 44, was last seen on June 13. On Monday, his mother, Peggy Lynn of Harwich, said she was concerned he is running out of important medications.

He was last seen on June 13 at his apartment on Gifford Street, where Lynn said he left his phone. He does not drive, due to his epilepsy condition.

Lynn, a retired special education teacher who said she still substitutes frequently at Monomoy Regional Middle School in Chatham, created a Facebook page to get the word out about Wacholder. She said that her son would often call her if anything was wrong, and that he wasn’t known to disappear or stop communicating.

“We had a system that has worked well for about 15 years,” Lynn said.

Lynn said Wacholder loves the ocean and boats, and added that he has a tattoo of a snake on his arm. He graduated from Provincetown High School in 1997, according to Provincetown School District Administrative Assistant Judy Ward.

Falmouth police urge anyone with information regarding his whereabouts to call the department at 774-255-4527.
