Just a drill: Police training at Bear Brook park this week

May 17—The FBI and other law enforcement agencies are conducting a training exercise in and around Bear Brook State Park in Allenstown this week, and officials are alerting area residents to expect a heavy police presence and "loud noises."

The majority of the training will be Wednesday from 2 a.m. to 6 p.m., according to a news release from the FBI's Boston division.

As part of a regularly scheduled federal training exercise, activities will include land-based operations with military vehicles and marked and unmarked police vehicles. "This training exercise is not being conducted in response to any ongoing world events, and there is no known danger to the public related to this exercise," the FBI said in the release.

Bear Brook Park will remain open for the duration of the training, which continues through Thursday, but there will be some limitations on movement in the area of Hayes Field and the Bear Hill Cabins, officials said.

The training is not open to the public or media.
