The mom of a Brooklyn teen gunned down outside a housing development Wednesday said her son was a victim of circumstance, and the company he keeps.

Amir Patterson, 16, was shot in the chest outside the Kingsborough Houses, on Kingsborough 3rd Walk near Pacific St. in Crown Heights, about 10 p.m. Wednesday, cops said.

“My son was a very well-taken-care-of person,” his mother, Lasheena Patterson, told the Daily News.

“He just hung out with the wrong crowd. He was at the wrong place and a wrong time. And God works in mysterious ways.”

Detectives haven’t zeroed in on a motive for the killing, and Patterson had no gang affiliations, police sources said.

“Nobody knows what happened. I’m still grieving,” his mother told The News.

“Right now I’m just going to have to face it and keep pushing forward.”
