Of all the dream jobs a person can have, I think we can agree these are the top five: ice cream taste-tester, professional cuddler of puppies, person who gets to take care of Queen Elizabeth's corgis, travel writer who specializes in 5-star hotels, and—ah, yes—MTV host. But specifically a MTV VJ in the early aughts or mid-'90s, when the fashion was best described as demented and the celebrities were legendary.

It's been a minute since any of MTV's hosts were household names, but for a while they were the people who defined what was cool. Or at the very least, they were the people who interviewed the people who defined what was cool. So in the spirit of nostalgia and because we have nothing better to do, let's take a look back on a bunch of our favorite famous MTV stars (Carson Daly. Ananda Lewis.
