Justin Bieber Postpones New York Shows This Week Following Face Paralysis

Justin Bieber will not be performing in New York City as planned this week.
The "Peaches" singer announced Sunday that he has postponed his shows scheduled for this week in Manhattan due to his recent diagnosis. He was set to perform in Madison Square Garden on Monday and Tuesday.
The venue shared an Instagram post with a statement from Bieber’s tour promoter, AEG Presents. It read: "Due to Justin’s ongoing medical situation, this week’s Justice Tour shows at Madison Square Garden in New York City will be postponed. Justin is receiving the best medical care possible and is determined to resume the tour as soon as he and the doctors feel he is able to continue. Details on the rescheduled MSG shows will be made public shortly."
Last Friday, Bieber revealed via an Instagram video that he has been diagnosed with Ramsay Hunt syndrome—a condition that occurs when a varicella-zoster virus infects a nerve in the head. Among other things, Bieber said it has caused half of his face to be completely paralyzed.
In the clip, viewers could see his restricted movement.
"This is pretty serious as you can see. I wish this wasn't the case but obviously, my body is telling me I got to slow down, and I hope you guys understand, and I'll be using this time to rest and relax and get back to 100 percent so that I can do what I was born to do," he said at the time.
He also said in an Instagram Story that it has gotten "progressively harder to eat," and asked fans to pray for him.
Last week, before fans were aware of his condition, Bieber postponed his shows at Toronto's Scotiabank Arena and at Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C.
The singer's wife, Hailey Bieber—who recently underwent heart surgery after suffering a mini-stroke—shared the singer's diagnosis reveal video on Friday, as well as Madison Square Garden's statement about his postponed shows Sunday, adding a white heart emoji.
