K-9 tracks PNC Bank robbery suspect to rooftop in the Poconos

Police arrested a Wilkes-Barre man after he allegedly fled the scene of a bank robbery in the Poconos on Saturday morning. A K-9 led them through a swamp and tracked the suspect to a nearby rooftop.

Pocono Mountain Regional Police responded to a bank robbery at the PNC Bank located on Route 115 in Blakeslee on Aug. 5 at around 11 a.m.

The suspect, later identified as 28-year-old David Stucker of Wilkes-Barre, allegedly entered the bank under the guise of attempting to cash a check and then demanded cash.

According to PMRP, the suspect requested that a bank teller cash a check, providing two forms of identification. He then showed the teller a handwritten note demanding money. The suspect fled the scene in his vehicle with the undisclosed amount of cash.

PMRP located the suspect's vehicle after it became disabled within a swamp off Burger Road. Police found the suspect's identification in the vehicle. A police K-9 was deployed and tracked the suspect to the roof of a house on Springer Lane.

Police report that after the suspect's arrest, a large amount of U.S. currency was found in his possession. During a secondary search of the area, more money was located, along with Stucker's wallet and the note used in the bank robbery.

Multiple felony charges, including robbery and theft, have been filed against Stucker.
