K-Pop band BTS microphones go up for auction

K-pop sensation BTS is making their debut - at a celebrity auction.

Up for grabs -seven signed microphones from each member of the band -that they used on tour.

But they won't come cheap.

The mics are expected to bring in between ten and twenty thousand dollars altogether.

Martin Nolan, director of Julien's Auctions says the mics are a welcome addition.

"These microphones are the first items ever to come to the auction block from such a global phenomenon as this boyband. The microphones we're looking at here were used on tour from 2017 to 2019 in the 'Love Yourself: Speak Yourself' tour and this is just truly amazing to have these items come onto the auction block."

BTS released three best-selling albums in 2019.

That makes them the first band since the Beatles to earn that distinction.

And Nolan says the mics are a worthy investment.

"They're donating to charity right now and at the same time possibly buying a good investment item, a great conversation piece, definitely, and in years to come you might turn around and sell it for even more money."

The auction will take place two days before the Grammys next month.

Proceeds will go to the Recording Academy's charity - Musicares.

Also on the auction list - guitars signed by the likes of Taylor Swift and Harry Styles.

Or if you fancy: signature scarves from Aerosmith's lead singer Steven Tyler.
