Girls’ Generation member Hyoyeon shared that GOT the beat had to decline an invitation to perform at Coachella 2022 due to a logistical reason.

SM Entertainment supergroup GOT the beat is a subunit of the label’s special project Girls On Top. GOT the beat consists of Girls’ Generation leader Taeyeon and member Hyoyeon, soloist BoA, aespa’s Karina and Winter and Red Velvet’s Seulgi and Wendy.

Hyoyeon revealed details about the invitation during an appearance on SBS’ “Cultwo Show” to promote the group’s new song, “Stamp On It."

According to the K-pop star, GOT the beat were invited to perform at Coachella following the debut of their 2022 hit “Step Back.”

However, GOT the beat's lack of an extensive discography is what held them back.

Hyoyeon explained on the show, “At the time, we had only one song, so we couldn’t go.”

Hyoyeon also shared that she is slated to release new music soon.

Even though GOT the beat didn’t participate in Coachella last year, members Karina and Winter still managed to perform.

The Aespa members debuted their first English-language single, “Girls," with fellow members Giselle and Ningning.

K-pop will continue to have a presence at Coachella with BLACKPINK performing at the festival for a second time. Rosé, Lisa, Jennie and Jisoo are ready to make history as Coachella’s first K-pop headliner.
