Kacey Musgraves Attends the Moschino Show—After a Moschino Makeover

2019 has been the year of Kacey Musgraves. The country-pop singer has collected countless accolades, including the CMAs Female Vocalist of the Year and the Grammy for Album of the Year (among others); she embarked on a world tour; and she seriously upped her style game in the process. Last night, she cemented her status as a fashion plate while attending Moschino’s Pre-Fall 2020 show in New York City. Held in a parked subway cart at the Transit Museum, the show was an ode to the city’s various subcultures—and Musgraves got into character with a mini Moschino makeover of her own.

The star, who has even tried on some of the best New York Fashion Week looks for Vogue, is no stranger to testing out a brand new look. For her front-row seat at the show—or rather, your typical MTA seat!—she decided to lean into designer Jeremy Scott’s vibrant, colorful aesthetic. Musgraves wore (as a dress) the label’s bright orange trench coat with crystal embellishment on the sleeves. She paired it with a mini leather bag in the same hue, and scrappy platform sandals with a square toe—eye-catching shoes though not ideal for a fast-traveling “K” train. Luckily for her, this particular subway cart was parked for the sake of fashion.
