US Vice President Kamala Harris arrived in Honduras on Thursday, January 27, to attend the inauguration of the country’s first female president, Xiomara Castro.

Video posted by Harris’s team shows the vice president after arriving in Comayagua on Thursday.

Harris would lead the presidential delegation to the inauguration of president-elect Xiomara Castro, and would participate in a bilateral meeting with Castro shortly after the inauguration, the vice president’s assistant press secretary said.

Harris wrote on Twitter that her visit to Honduras is “an opportunity for our two nations to deepen our cooperation on key issues, from anti-corruption, to economic recovery.” Credit: Brenna Parker via Storyful
