Presidential hopeful Kamala Harris fought back at Donald Trump Jr. on Twitter after the son of President Trump poked fun at the California Democrat for her sense of humor.

"Why is Kamala Harris the only person that laughs at her jokes... always way to long and way too hard?” the President’s son tweeted. “The most disingenuous person in politics... after Hillary,” he added of Hillary Clinton. In his tweet, Trump Jr. included a January video of Kamala laughing after a reporter asked her, “How do you describe yourself?”

Cracking up, Harris joked, “Did you read my book?”

On Friday, Harris was quick to reply to Trump Jr.’s comment, taking aim at both him and his father. “You wouldn’t know a joke if one raised you,” she tweeted.

Twitter quickly blew up with comments about Harris’s tweet, with many users praising her quick thinking and sassy retort. “2 snaps and a twist,” tweeted someone.

A Wrinkle In Time director Ava DuVernay responded with a meme of Orange Is the New Black character “Crazy Eyes” taking a bow. And people shared memes of President Obama dropping his microphone at his last White House Correspondents' Dinner in 2016.

The dialogue between Harris and Trump Jr. on social media has been consistently strained. Earlier this summer, during the second night of the Democratic debates, Trump Jr. retweeted a tweet that claimed Harris is “not an American black.” Trump Jr. wrote in his message, “Is this true? Wow.”

Harris’s campaign communications director, Lily Adams, responded by telling CNN that the accusations were similar to those President Obama faced when many claimed he was not born in America. According to the New York Times, Trump Jr. deleted the tweet and his spokesperson told the outlet it was a misunderstanding.

This month, according to CNN, Harris sought to have President Trump suspended from Twitter for trying to "target, harass, and attempt to out the whistleblower" who made controversial claims about a phone call between Trump and the Ukrainian president. After that call, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced a formal impeachment inquiry into President Trump.
