Kandiyohi County Board to hear update on bicycle and pedestrian plan on Tuesday, Nov. 1

Oct. 30—WILLMAR

— An update on the county bicycle and pedestrian plan will be given at Tuesday's

Kandiyohi County Board

meeting. The meeting will start at 9 a.m. Nov. 1 in the boardroom at the Kandiyohi County Health and Human Services building in Willmar.

The bicycle and pedestrian plan was created in 2017 with help from the Mid-Minnesota Development Commission. The commission is now proposing the county update the plan for a cost of $11,380. The County Board will consider whether to approve Mid-Minnesota's proposal and begin the update process.

Also on the agenda is the board's approval of a resolution supporting the four-lane conversion of a portion of

Minnesota Highway 23

from U.S. Highway 71 to west of Kandiyohi County Road 5, approximately 2.5 miles. The resolution, if approved, will show the board's support of the Highway 23 Coalition's pursuit for funding from the state's Corridors of Commerce program.

The County Board agenda also includes the final payment and acceptance of four public works projects, and County Human Resources Director Connie Mort will be presenting proposals from two firms wanting to do the county's compensation market survey.
