Kandiyohi County Board to welcome 2023 with first meeting on Tuesday

— The first meeting of 2023 for the Kandiyohi County Board on Tuesday will begin with the swearing-in of a new sheriff and commissioner.

The meeting starts at 9 a.m. Jan. 3 in the board chambers of the Kandiyohi County Health and Human Services building in Willmar.

The oaths of office will be given to Sheriff-elect Eric Tollefson, Commissioner-elect Dale Anderson, re-elected Commissioners Corky Berg and Duane Anderson and re-elected County Attorney Shane Baker.

The board will also elect its chair and vice chair, appoint the official newspaper and reorganize its committee assignments.

Also on the agenda is setting the minimum salaries of elected officials, appointing the Kandiyohi County surveyor, authorizing the sale of surplus land attached to the Willmar Wye project, city prosecution contracts and an update on the recent storm events.
