Kangaroo Joey Pair Become 'Best Friends' at New South Wales Zoo

Two kangaroo joeys at a Central Coast zoo became close friends after spending hours “bouncing around together”, according to zookeepers at the Australian Reptile Park.

Frankie was recently re-introduced to the zoo’s free-roaming kangaroo family, after being treated for skin conditions, and struck up a friendship with another joey called Tim Tam, the park said on Facebook.

In video shared by the Australian Reptile Park, the two joeys can be seen eating, hopping and playing together.

Head of Mammals at the Australian Reptile Park, Dean Reid, said there is “always a bit of anxiety when reintroducing a kangaroo joey back into the ‘mob’. You never know if they’re all suddenly going to fight or cause issues. But thankfully, this couldn’t have gone better.” Credit: Australian Reptile Park via Storyful
