Kansas has 4 of the best cities in the US for pizza, ranking says — and one is Wichita

There’s good news for local pizza fans — Wichita is the best city in Kansas for pizzerias, according to one recent ranking.

A ranking conducted by Pizzello, a pizza oven and lifestyle company, ranked Wichita 45th overall in the U.S. for best pizzerias. The company examined the 500 most populous U.S. cities by analyzing overall Google pizzeria reviews, coming up with the 250 best locales.

“The result was a definitive list of top-tier pizza destinations revealing which towns and cities across America the best pizzas can be ordered from,” the article reads.

Wichita’s Google reviews for pizzerias averaged a score of 4.5 out of 5, ranking right below Wilmington, N.C., and right above West Palm Beach, Fla.

Lawrence, Olathe and Overland Park made the best of list, too, ranking 117th, 154th and 197th respectively. Lawrence’s pizzeria ranking averaged 4.46, Olathe’s was 4.45 and Overland Park’s averaged 4.4.

New York took the ranking’s No. 1 spot for grabbing a pie.
