Kansas Church Helps Man Smile for Christmas With Donations for Dental Work

A man in Olathe, Kansas, got his Christmas wish granted when his local church helped him cover the costs of dental work to replace two front teeth he’d lost the previous year.

On December 18, Evans Kamuru shared video of himself to Facebook singing Don Gardner’s All I Want For Christmas Is My Two Front Teeth. In his post, Kamaru explained how he’d lost his front teeth – wrapping Christmas presents in 2017 and eating a waffle. He also added that dental implants were expensive and fell to the bottom of the family’s priority list during 2018 but now, thanks to his community, he’d be getting his toothy wish.

Kamaru’s friends and family shared the video of his singing, which he’d originally recorded in January 2018, on a special WhatsApp group, and managed to raise $14,550 towards Kamaru’s needs which included both his dental work and financial aid towards his autistic son Zeke’s care.

The father of three shared additional updates as he visited Gordon Dental in Leawood, Kansas, to start the journey into getting his permanent teeth implants fitted. Kamuru’s daughters also visited the dental surgery to present the dentist with a bouquet of flowers to thank him for helping out their dad. Credit: Evans Kamuru via Storyful
