Kansas City-area school closings, remote learning for Friday

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Multiple Kansas City-area school districts have canceled or switched to remote learning for Friday.

The decision comes as frigid temperatures continue throughout the region.

Many school districts saw multiple snow days or remote learning days last week and were also out of school Monday due to the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday and Tuesday due to weather.

As of 6 a.m. Friday, here are some of the Kansas City-area school districts that have canceled classes:

  • Lathrop

  • Lee A. Tolbert Community Academy

  • Maryville

  • Mid-Buchanan

  • North Daviess

  • North Platte

  • Nova Center School
