KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Football fashion. It’s become a big thing in recent years, especially this season as Taylor Swift-mania took over Chiefs Kingdom.

Kansas City-area boutiques are seeing big sales with the Super Bowl just a couple days away.

You can’t see it, but ShananiGanns in Shawnee, Kansas is packed like a can of sardines.

As Chiefs fans, mostly female, peruse the latest Taylor Swift earrings, Travis Kelce fans and bedazzled jackets.

Chiefs success brings booming business for memorabilia dealers

Kristina Gann with ShananiGanns said up to 700 people come in each day in the run up to the Super Bowl and with 41 vendors selling merch here, the people just keep coming and coming.

“We’re like this from the day after Thanksgiving until the day after we win the Super Bowl,” she said. “Every single vendor I have in here is totally different than each other. So, there’s no vendor competition there’s no the same thing over and over.”

Best sellers are probably obvious. Swift, Kelce, Mahomes and even…

“Honestly, the more vulgar it is, the better it sells,” Gann said.

Across town, another shop that’s doing business is Westside Storey. The boutique shop near the Crossroads saw a lull in people Friday night but expect foot traffic to pick up over the weekend, and why not? Especially since Taylor Swift reportedly bought some merch from here.

“Just the fact that she bought something from here has helped with business,” Lindsay Mincks said.

hat sale alone saw the BBC and another London-based reporter come to talk with them about Swift.

Now, while Westside Storey isn’t as packed as ShananiGanns, it still has unique finds.

“Our best sellers right now is the Taylor Swift Red Zone shirt… we have the Smokin’ Mahomes where it’s an old photo of Len Dawson but they superimposed Mahomes’ face onto it,” Mincks said.
