Fan pleads guilty, fined $500 for shining laser at Tom Brady during AFC championship game

A Kansas City Chiefs fan was fined $500 this week for shining a laser at New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady during the AFC championship game last season, according to TMZ Sports.

Dwyan Morgan, 64, was charged with disturbing the peace after he repeatedly shined a green laser pointer around Brady’s eyes during the fourth quarter of the conference title game at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City last January.

Morgan pleaded guilty to the charge and was fined $500, per the report, avoiding the maximum fine of $1,000 and up to one year in jail that came with the charge. The Chiefs have banned Morgan from the stadium for life, and reportedly used video and witness accounts to identify him.

While the laser pointer could have significantly impacted Brady during the game, it didn’t deter him too badly. The Patriots beat the Chiefs 37-31 in overtime and reached their ninth Super Bowl. Brady threw for 348 yards on 30 completions and had one touchdown.
