Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and tight end Travis Kelce have once again achieved the hallowed feat of a 99-overall rating in the upcoming Madden video game installment.

Mahomes and Kelce are rated as the best at their respective positions in the upcoming Madden 24 game, dropping Aug. 18, according to ratings released by EA Sports on Thursday and Friday. For both, it is the fourth time they’ve achieved 99-overall status, and for Kelce, a tight end record.

Only Los Angeles Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald, Minnesota Vikings receiver Justin Jefferson and Dallas Cowboys right guard Zack Martin share the distinction of a 99 rating in this year’s game.

Behind Mahomes, the Cincinnati Bengals’ Joe Burrow (95), Buffalo Bills’ Josh Allen (94), Baltimore Ravens’ Lamar Jackson (91) and Philadelphia Eagles’ Jalen Hurts (88) round out the top 5 quarterbacks for Madden 24.

In last year’s Madden 23, Mahomes (95 overall) was the third-rated quarterback behind Tom Brady (97) and Aaron Rodgers (96). Brady, of course, retired after the season and Rodgers had a down year by his standards and was traded from the Green Bay Packers to the New York Jets. He’s rated as an 86 overall and as the eighth best QB in Madden 24.

Mahomes boasts the best awareness rating (98) of any signal-caller in Madden 24, and his throw-power rating (97) is second only to Allen (99), the game’s cover athlete.

Kelce rose just one point after he was already rated 98-overall to begin Madden 23. He’s followed by the San Francisco 49ers’ George Kittle (96), Ravens’ Mark Andrews (95), Vikings’ T.J. Hockenson (90) and Eagles’ Dallas Goedert (89).

Kelce’s awareness rating (99) is a highlight like Mahomes’ and his 97 catch rating also leads his position for the new game.

Where have other Chiefs been rated in Madden 24 since Chris Jones was positioned as the No. 2 defensive tackle on Tuesday?

Representing the defense, Nick Bolton is an 87 overall and the sixth-best middle linebacker in the game.

On the offensive line, Joe Thuney is an 89 overall and rated third at left guard, while Trey Smith is an 82 overall and ranked eighth at right guard. Creed Humphrey is a 90 overall and the second-best center behind Travis Kelce’s brother, the Eagles’ Jason Kelce.

None of the Chiefs’ safeties, cornerbacks, running backs or receivers were in the top 10 at their respective positions. But at least Mahomes and Kelce will be dominant again for Chiefs Madden players around the world.
