Kent Somers: Chiefs 31, Cardinals 24

The Cardinals injury report reads like it’s week 11, not 1, and contains too many of their better players to pick them over a Super Bowl contender.

Richard Obert: Cardinals 31, Chiefs 27

Kyler Murray won’t need to take a preseason snap to get the Cardinals rolling against a Chiefs defense that has holes.

NFL Week 1 picks, predictions:

Dana Scott: Cardinals 32, Chiefs 28

Now that DeAndre Hopkins is out the first six games, and Tyreek Hill is playing for Miami, Kyler Murray and Patrick Mahomes are in a similar predicament and will show out with their other new targets Hollywood Brown and Juju Smith-Schuster. But it will come down to if the Cardinals can stop the Chiefs on third down, which they led the NFL in that conversion percentage last year.

Theo Mackie: Chiefs 31, Cardinals 17

The Chiefs don’t have as much hype entering this year, but even without Tyreek Hill, I don’t see the Cardinals defense slowing down Patrick Mahomes.

Emily Horos: Chiefs 34, Cardinals 30

It's no secret that injuries had plagued the Cardinals in the walkup to the season. Throw in a suspended wide receiver and it doesn't look good for the home team. Somehow, they will keep it closer than expected as Kyler Murray airs the ball out.

Chris Coppola: Chiefs 37, Cardinals 17

Arizona’s cornerback situation is shaky, JJ Watt is out, Markus Golden mostly watched during the preseason and two young linebackers are filling the middle. Not exactly what you want on your defense against Patrick Mahomes.

The Cardinals won't have DeAndre Hopkins, but they are more than capable of upsetting the Chiefs in Week 1 at home. We don't see that happening, however.
