This Kansas City restaurant is one of the 50 best in the U.S, says national magazine

Add another magazine clipping to the Antler Room’s growing pile of national recognition.

The Hyde Park restaurant, opened in 2016 by Nick and Leslie Goellner at 2506 Holmes Road, has been named one of the 50 best restaurants in the nation by Wine Enthusiast. The 50 restaurants selected “range wildly in terms of concept and atmosphere, but they’re all places that put wine and food on equal footing,” according to the magazine.

“We are truly honored,” the Antler Room posted on Instagram.

Wine Enthusiast praised the Antler Room’s “refined menu of creative global small plates and pastas” and its “expansive wine list that offers everything from an Ozark Traminette to Austrian Zweigelt.” It previously noted that the restaurant has “one of the largest selections of orange wines and international natural wines in the city.”

In 2017, Bon Appetit named the Antler Room one of 50 finalists for best new U.S. restaurant, and chef Nick Goellner has been nominated three times for a James Beard Award for Best Chef: Midwest.
