Kansas City things to do: World premiere at the Rep, Shen Yun dance, Folk Alliance

“Flood” originally was scheduled to be part of the Kansas City Repertory Theatre’s OriginKC: New Works Festival that was canceled by the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020.

Instead, the absurdist tragicomedy by New York playwright Mashuq Mushtaq Deen will make its world premiere nearly three years later at the KC Rep’s Copaken Stage.

It will open at 7 p.m. Jan. 31 and run through Feb. 19. Tickets ($35-$75) are available at kcrep.org.
