Kansas forward Jalen Wilson keeps racking up the hardware.

Wilson, a redshirt junior forward, on Wednesday was named first-team All-America by both the U.S. Basketball Writers Association and National Association of Basketball Coaches.

Having made the Associated Press and Sporting News All-America teams earlier this month, Wilson is thus a consensus All-America first-team honoree.

Wilson becomes KU’s 32nd consensus All-America first-team selection and gives Kansas back-to-back honorees: Ochai Agbaji earned the distinction in 2022.

Wilson is the seventh Jayhawk selected consensus All-America during coach Bill Self’s 20-year tenure at KU, joining Wayne Simien (2005), Sherron Collins (2010), Thomas Robinson (2012), Frank Mason III (2017), Devonte’ Graham (2018) and Agbaji (2022).

This year’s Big 12 Player of the Year, Wilson is averaging a conference-leading 20.1 points and 8.4 rebounds per game. It may be simply a matter of time before his jersey is retired and hung from the rafters at Allen Fieldhouse.

Kansas is getting ready for a first-round NCAA Tournament matchup Thursday against No. 16 seed Howard. The Jayhawks hold the West Region’s No. 1 seed, the 10th No. 1 seed of Self’s two decades at the helm in Lawrence.
