Kansas Jayhawks football sets April date for annual Spring Showcase with fans

Football season, or a preview of it, is almost here for Kansas Jayhawks fans.

KU on Tuesday announced the date for its annual Spring Showcase: Friday, April 12, at 7 p.m. at Rock Chalk Park.

The location change from last year is due to construction at David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium.

KU will play all home games in the 2024 regular season at Children’s Mercy Park — home of the Sporting KC Major League Soccer club — and GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium, where the Kansas City Chiefs play.

The showcase will mark the end of KU football’s spring practice schedule; the event is open to everyone and admission is free, with no ticket required.

Kansas is coming off a terrific third season under coach Lance Leipold. The Jayhawks (9-4, 5-4 Big 12) defeated UNLV in the Guaranteed Rate Bowl.

After an offseason filled with coaching turnover, Kansas returns much of its offense and has added six new transfers.
