Line edit. Kansas football’s offensive line has allowed just two sacks in the last five games combined and has surrendered nine for the season in seven contests. That’s a huge improvement from last season; the Jayhawks allowed 38 sacks in their first seven outings of 2020.
No run zone. Oklahoma State leads the Big 12 in rushing defense, as opponents are averaging 2.9 yards per carry. The Cowboys thrived in this area last week, holding Iowa State to 33 rushes for 67 yards.
Flag football. KU and Oklahoma State are on opposite ends of the Big 12 when it comes to penalties. KU has the second-fewest flags per game (4.6), while OSU is the most penalized at 7.1. The Cowboys’ 63.4 yards per game marked off also is the worst total in the conference.
Developing Devin. KU freshman running back Devin Neal was named co-Big 12 newcomer of the week following his 100-yard rushing performance against Oklahoma. Neal has rushed 70 times for 344 yards — a 4.9-yard average — over his last four games.
Series domination. Oklahoma State has won the last 11 meetings between the schools, while also averaging 48 points per game in the last six contests. KU’s last win against Oklahoma State came in 2007 when it won, 43-28, in Stillwater.
