Kansas men’s basketball will face Seton Hall on Dec. 1 at home in Big 12-Big East Battle

LAWRENCE — The first season of Shaheen Holloway’s tenure as Seton Hall’s head men’s basketball coach will include a trip to Allen Fieldhouse, for a Dec. 1 game against Kansas.

A Kansas release Wednesday outlined the two sides will meet as a part of the 2022 Big 12-Big East Battle. That release detailed the various matchups of the series will take place in late November and early December, and that broadcast arrangements for the contests will be determined by each home team’s respective national television rights holder — ESPN for the Big 12 Conference and Fox Sports for the Big East Conference.

The games that will take place in November are Baylor at Marquette (Nov. 29); Providence at TCU (Nov. 30); Georgetown at Texas Tech (Nov. 30) and Kansas State at Butler (Nov. 30). The games that will take place in December, in addition to the Jayhawks’ matchup, are Creighton at Texas (Dec. 1); Oklahoma State at Connecticut (Dec. 1); Oklahoma at Villanova (Dec. 3); St. John’s at Iowa State (Dec. 4) and West Virginia at Xavier (Dec. 4). It’s a slate that is not lacking for teams that participated in the NCAA tournament this past season.

Kansas, which is coming off a national championship, is 2-1 all-time in the series. The Jayhawks topped St. John’s last season and Creighton the season before that, after losing against Villanova during the 2019-20 campaign.

Kansas is also 2-1 all-time against Seton Hall, which is coming off a season in which it reached the NCAA tournament as well. The Jayhawks will be looking for a third-straight victory against the Pirates.
