Collin Klein is bringing one of Kansas State’s football analysts with him to Texas A&M.

Josh Buford, an offensive analyst who spent the past two seasons helping the Wildcats in an off-field role, has decided to take a similar job with the Aggies.

Buford has altered his bio information on X (formerly Twitter) to indicate that he is now a senior offensive analyst at Texas A&M who will help Klein tutor quarterbacks in College Station.

Some wondered if any K-State coaches or other staffers would follow Klein after Mike Elko hired him as his offensive coordinator earlier this month. So far, Buford is the only departure. He waited until after he helped K-State defeat North Carolina State 28-19 at the Pop-Tarts Bowl to make the change.

Buford had been a part of Chris Klieman’s support staff since 2022. Before that, he served as an analyst at Hawaii. He also has experience coaching at the high school level, as he spent time working for Park Hill and Excelsior Springs in the Kansas City area.

During his time at K-State, Buford helped quarterbacks Adrian Martinez, Will Howard and Avery Johnson all prepare for important games and learn the intricacies of K-State’s offensive system.

Klein left K-State for Texas A&M after spending the past two seasons as Klieman’s offensive coordinator. The Wildcats won 19 games and a Big 12 championship during that time.

K-State turned to offensive line coach Conor Riley to call plays at the Pop-Tarts Bowl. The Wildcats are currently working to finalize a deal with former Texas Tech head coach Matt Wells to come aboard as a co-offensive coordinator alongside Riley.

Wells has spent the past two seasons working as an offensive analyst for Brent Venables at Oklahoma.
