Kansas State's in-state football recruiting bandwagon keeps on rolling.

The Wildcats scored another major victory Sunday when Blue Valley High School wide receiver Andre Davis announced on social media that he will be part of K-State's 2023 recruiting class.

It was another coup for coach Chris Klieman and the Wildcats, who beat out Iowa, Iowa State, Illinois, Nebraska, Kansas and Minnesota. Davis had offers from all seven and had official visits scheduled with Iowa State, K-State and Iowa.

Davis, a 6-foot-4, 205-pound senior, is the fourth Class of '23 player to commit to K-State, all of them ranked in 247 Sports' composite top 10 for the state of Kansas. He joins Kansas City Piper offensive lineman, Kapaun-Mt. Carmel's Will Anciaux and Wichita Collegiate defensive back Wesley Fair, who made their decisions in the spring.

Davis is a consensus three-star prospect who last year was the leading receiver on a 10-2 Blue Valley team that also featured 2022 K-State signee Sterling Lockett. He caught 53 passes for 283 yards and three touchdowns for the Tigers.

K-State also is in the running for three of the top four players in the state — four-star Maize quarterback Avery Johnson, four-star Wichita Heights running back John Randle and three-star running back Dylan Edwards from Derby. Johnson took his official visit to Manhattan last week and was at Oregon this weekend, while Edwards visited K-State this weekend.

Johnson, who also visited Washington, said he expects to have a decision soon after his return from Oregon. K-State was the third visit for Edwards, who also took trips to Nebraska and Oklahoma, and Clements will make the trek to Baylor next weekend.

Davis is the son of Willie Davis, who played wide receiver for the Kansas City Chiefs from 1991-95 and then for Houston/Tennessee from 1996-98. The elder Davis' most productive seasons came with the Chiefs during the 1993-94 seasons when he started 28 of 30 games and caught a combined 103 passes for 1,731 yards with 12 touchdowns.
