Kansas Walmart store managers get new pay increase, bonuses

TOPEKA (KSNT) – The national retail chain Walmart has announced more incentives are being released to its U.S. store managers.

Walmart said in a press release on Jan. 19 that it would be investing in its employees by giving store managers in the U.S. a boost in pay. The initial announcement from Walmart included updates for the base pay and annual bonus for store managers.

The average salary of Walmart store managers was bumped up from $117,000 to $128,000 a year. Additionally, if a store manager’s Walmart location hits all its sales targets, the manager will get a bonus of up to 200% of their base salary. These new incentives will be effective as of Feb. 1, 2024.

An update released on Jan. 29 from John Furner, president and CEO of Walmart U.S., listed another bonus for Walmart store managers. Building on the earlier pay increase and bonus, Furner said store managers will also get an annual stock grant of up to $20,000.
