Kansas wrestling tournaments take place this week. Here's what you need to know.

State tournament season for high school winter sports in Kansas continues.

Swimming concluded over the weekend and the state wrestling championships take place from Wednesday to Saturday in Park City, Salina and Hays.

To watch the action from home, you can view the state wrestling tournaments at the National Federation of State High School Associations

Locations, dates and more for the girls and boys state wrestling tournaments

Girls

The girls state championships will take place Wednesday and Thursday.

On Wednesday, gates at both venues will open at 8:45 a.m. with the first round beginning at 10 a.m. On Thursday, gates will open at 7:45 a.m. with the fifth round beginning at 9 a.m.

Classes 4-1A will compete at Tony's Pizza Events Center in Salina, 800 The Midway, Salina, 67401.

General admission tickets are $11 and can be purchased via cash or credit card. Tickets can be purchased at the venue or digitally at the Tony's Pizza Events Center website.

Classes 6-5A will compete at Hartman Arena in Park City, 8151 N. Hartman Arena Drive, Park City, 67147.

General admission tickets are $12 and can be purchased via cash or credit card. Tickets can be purchased at the venue or digitally at the Hartman Arena website.

Boys

The boys state championships will take place on Friday and Saturday.

Classes 3-1A will compete at Fort Hays State University's Gross Memorial Coliseum, US-183 Bypass, Hays, 67601.

General admission tickets are $10 and can be purchased via cash or credit card. Tickets can be purchased at the venue or digitally.

On Friday, gates will open at 8:15 a.m. with the first round beginning at 10 a.m and on Saturday, gates will open at 7:45 a.m. with the fifth round beginning at 9 a.m.

Class 4A will compete at Tony's Pizza Events Center in Salina, 800 The Midway, Salina, 67401.

Topeka-area teams and athletes competing at state

Girls

The top four wrestlers in each weight class at the regional tournaments qualified for state.

Shawnee Heights and Washburn Rural won regional titles, qualifying 10 wrestlers each.

They'll be joined by Seaman (8), Rossville (4), Highland Park (2) Topeka West (2), Hayden (1), Silver Lake (1) and Topeka High (1) as Topeka-area schools to send wrestlers to state.

  • 170-pound: Kylisha James (27-11)

For class 6-5A, wrestlers that finished in the top eight of each weight class qualified while the top four in 4-1A will be heading to state.

Seaman will be sending 10 wrestlers to state followed by Shawnee Heights (8), Washburn Rural (8), Silver Lake (5), Rossville (4), Topeka High (3), Hayden (2) and Highland Park (1).
