Kanye West's new designer trainers have been ridiculed by Greggs - who compared the shoes to sausage rolls.

The musician and fashion designer launched the 450 Sulfur shoe - a fitted, lace-up yellow sports shoe - through his Yeezy brand earlier this year and recently asked fans on social media what they thought of the new model.

UK bakery chain Greggs responded: "Two Sausage Rolls short of a multipack."

West - who officially changed his name to Ye in October 2021 - has not responded.

The trainers have a retail price of around $200 or £170.

A packet of four unheated Greggs' sausage rolls costs £3.

West, 45, branched out into fashion early on in his career but his eccentric designs have often attracted negative reviews from critics.

However, his influential creations are popular with fans, with his limited edition Adidas Yeezy Boosts collaboration in 2015, selling out in just 10 minutes.

In 2020 Greggs delighted grime artist Stormzy by honouring him with the gift of their first ever VIP concierge card.

The rapper - who revealed he was a fan of the bakery chain in the lyrics of his 2014 track Not That Deep - tweeted at the time: “Are you mad the first Greggs black card @GreggsOfficial. I have peaked this is brilliant.”

West married reality TV star Kim Kardashian in 2014 after dating for two years. They have four children together and split in 2021.

Despite their separation, the pair continue to co-parent their children.
