West’s show did involve hundreds of models, but was a “performance rules” list like this one really necessary? [Photo: Getty]
A list of the “rules” that Kanye West handed out to his models has leaked on Twitter and, if it’s for real, it shows that the rapper-turned-fashion-designer runs one shipshape show.
The reported list includes some 38 outrageous rules, ranging from “no eye contract” to no “rule breaking”. Even smiling is banned and being cool is another absolute no-no. Clearly Mr West does not want to see his models enjoying themselves – or looking good.
But despite the fact that everyone knows the fashion designer is an extreme perfectionist, a number of points on the list are so ridiculous that we don’t see how the “performance rules” list can be real.
The list includes a fair few contradictions (such as no fast movements, no slow movements and no sharp movements) that would’ve put even the most experienced model in a state of perpetual fear.
And we definitely wouldn’t have liked to be around when Naomi Campbell, who starred in the show, was handed the list.

The show did appear to go off without a hitch, so if the list is genuine then clearly each model studied it well.
