Someone pop the party hoppers and toot the birthday horn, because Kim Kardashian celebrated turning 40 yesterday [21 October].

As well as hanging out with the Keeping Up With The Kardashians gang (though one person was noticeably absent from the pics), Kim received well wishes from across the globe - including a very special one from her husband Kanye West.

The couple got married in Florence, Italy, in May 2014, after Kanye proposed by hiring out San Francisco's baseball stadium in October 2013, and having "PLEEEASE MARRY MEEE!!!!" written in neon lights on the scoreboard.

Kanye shared a sweet throwback to the proposal to mark Kim's 40th, almost seven years to the day after they got engaged. "Been doing empty stadiums Happy 40th birthday!!! I love you so much" he wrote to his 30.9million Twitter followers.

Kim quote retweeted Kanye's tribute and added "I love you so much" with a white heart, while fans were all over the PDA.

"Kimye forever," one person wrote, while another said, "True love!" Another put, "My dream couple."

Back in June, Kim posted a similar tribute to her husband in honour of Father's Day. The pair share four children - North, Saint, Psalm and Chicago. "Happy Fathers Day to the best dad!!!!" the 40-year-old wrote.

"Thank you for making life so much fun! You give our kids the most awesome life! I love you so much!!!"

Looks like these two are happier and stronger than ever.
