Unedited Khloé Kardashian swimsuit photo allegedly being scrubbed from the internet: 'Just really sad'

A public relations team is allegedly trying to scrub an unedited Khloé Kardashian photo from the internet after it was apparently “accidentally posted” to social media over the weekend.

The photo in question shows Khloé smiling and posing in a bikini by the pool. It’s nothing out of the ordinary for a member of the family, except for the fact that the picture appears to be unfiltered and unedited.

Now, several people who posted the photo claim that they were asked to take it down under legal threat from the Kardashian family’s PR camp, which released a statement saying that while the image was “beautiful,” it was unauthorized.

“The color edited photo was taken of Khloé during a private family gathering and posted to social media without permission by mistake by an assistant,” Tracy Romulus, chief marketing officer for Kim Kardashian’s KKW Brands, told Page Six. “Khloé looks beautiful but it is within the right of the copyright owner to not want an image not intended to be published taken down.”

Copyright infringement applies to someone reposting your photo without your permission — even if credit is given to the original source. Usually, the Kardashians, who are public figures, allow fans to use their Instagram uploads for reposts or edits. But in this case, because the family allegedly didn’t want the photo online, its PR team claimed copyright infringement as a reason to ask people to take it down.

A screenshot of a Twitter message, allegedly from Kim herself, is also circulating on Reddit, although it is not verified. The message appears to be asking someone to take the photo down because of “copy wright [sic] infringement”

The same screenshot claims that the image was stolen from a “fake account of my grandma’s,” although that contradicts Romulus’s statement that it was an assistant’s mistake.

For the most part, the internet seems to be disappointed in the PR response — if the story is true, that is.

Ash London, a Sydney-based radio host with over 45,000 followers on Instagram, shared a Story saying that she found the incident to be “sad.” The Daily Mail acquired screenshots of the Story, which has since expired off of London’s Instagram.

“Is anyone else just really sad over Khloé Kardashian’s waging war against an unedited photo of herself in a bikini … a photo in which she looks beautiful?” London wrote. “How are young people expected to love their bodies when this is the message we are sending?”

“To be fair … I wouldn’t like it if someone posted a photo of me in a bikini I didn’t approve,” London continued. “But my sense on this is that the issue she has is that she deems the photo unflattering.”

No Kardashian family member has actually come forward with a statement or response to the story. Meanwhile, Khloé has continued posting on Instagram.

“Moral of the story? Unless you’ve seen someone’s body in an ill-fitting bikini under those horrendous [lights] in the change room… you’re not allowed to compare your body to theirs,” London concluded in her Instagram post.
