Kari Lake wants to do WHAT in response to Trump's indictment?

Former Arizona gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake wants all Republican challengers to drop out and clear the way for Trump to run in 2024.

It’s now been three days since Kari Lake called on all of Donald Trump’s rivals to drop out of the race and support the indicted ex-president.

“This is the most egregious case of election interference in the history of our country,” declared Lake, in her self-appointed role as the Republican Party’s Next Big Thing.

“This a battle that a unified Republican party MUST fight. Otherwise, we will lose this country forever. That is why I am calling for all Republican candidates for President to immediately suspend their campaigns, stop wasting hard-earned donor money and rally around our nominee, President Donald J. Trump."

To my absolute shock and amazement, not so much a single presidential candidate heeded Lake’s call to give way for a man who stands charged with 78 crimes, though Vivek Ramaswamy did vow to pardon Trump if elected.

Not one Republican listened to Lake

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis slammed the indictment then promptly added it to his campaign pitch, vowing to “end the weaponization of the federal government” if elected.

Former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley took a pass, saying “I’m tired of commenting on every Trump drama.”

Former Vice President Mike Pence, meanwhile, took to the microphones to reinforce the indictment’s charge, that Trump conspired to overturn democracy.

“The president specifically asked me, and his gaggle of crackpot lawyers asked me, to literally reject votes, which would have resulted in the issue being turned over to the House of Representatives, and literally chaos would have ensued,” Pence told reporters.

Trump indictment reminder: Rusty Bowers stood tall (and mostly alone)

Apparently, these candidates haven’t gotten the word that Lake has the big guy behind her. (The really big one, not the one who lives in a golf resort.)

Don't lose hope. Don't lose faith,” she posted on Thursday. “God put us here at this moment because he knew we would be up for this challenge. We’re going to be the ones that save this country.”

So, Lake has a new plan: Decertify 2020

While she’s doing all that, let’s hope she doesn’t lose complete touch with reality.

Ignored in her Tuesday effort to clear the way for Trump’s triumphant return, by Thursday Lake offered a new plan — one that would actually disqualify Trump from the race that just three days ago she said should be his and his alone to run.

Now she wants to decertify the 2020 election. (Cue the cringe of every Republican strategist focused on finding a winning campaign message for 2024.)

“He won in 2016. He won even bigger in 2020,” Lake told Steve Bannon’s War Room podcast on Thursday. “All that January 6th was, was a staged riot to cover up the fact that they certified a fraudulent election … .

“If we just go back and deal with this fraudulent election and what happened in 2020, we don’t have to impeach him (Biden) because he really isn’t, in my opinion and many others who look at the evidence, he really isn’t the the true president. Why don’t we decertify 2020?”

Anyone want to tell her what that means?

So says the Arizona firebrand as she travels the nation in her coast-to-coast audition to become Trump’s running mate.

Of course, if the 2020 election was decertified …

… and Trump was restored to office to finish out a second term …
