Karl Lagerfeld Dies: Looking Back at His Best Chanel Couture Wedding Dresses

Karl Lagerfeld, the force behind luxury fashion house Chanel, passed away Tuesday, February 19, at age 85.

The renowned designer, who was the creative director of both the French fashion house and Italian fashion house Fendi, also had a hand in weddings. Each season, Lagerfeld released a show-stopping bridal gown to close out his Chanel Couture show.

His latest ensemble made quite the splash last month after Lagerfeld sent a sequined, high fashion bridal swimsuit down the runway of the Grand Palais in Paris for his final runway show. At the time, the fashion force was not present as he was battling pancreatic cancer. Chanel confirmed he passed away in Paris on Tuesday.

Other celebs to wear Chanel creations on their wedding days included Keira Knightley, Drew Barrymore and British socialite Poppy Delevingne. Lagerfeld was the creative director of both Chanel and Fendi.
