Lviv’s Karpaty FC have called out Spain’s Real Sociedad after their signing of Moscow Dynamo’s Arsen Zakharyan.

The Lions have accused the Spanish club of endorsing Russian terrorism and the killing of Ukrainians.

“In March 2022, Real Sociedad stood with Ukraine,” Lviv’s Karpaty FC wrote on Twitter on Aug. 19.

However, in “August 2023: Real pays over EUR 10 million ($11 million) to Russia’s Dynamo for their (national team) player. (The) Russian regime receives more than EUR 1 million in taxes ($ 1.1 million). Real Sociedad support terrorism and the death of Ukrainian people,” Karpaty’s press office wrote.

As a reminder, the Russian national team player inked a contract with the Spanish club that extends until the conclusion of the 2028-29 season.
