Kate Hudson Goes Lisa Frank-Chic in Purple Leopard Print

Kate Hudson may be a mom of three, but she still knows how to party.

The 40-year-old Almost Famous actress fêted her brand-new vodka, King St. Vodka, with a chic launch party at King Restaurant in New York last night. Hudson played bartender, shaking up her gluten-free, non-GMO spirit to make dirty martinis, and stunned in a purple leopard print dress that delivered all the Lisa Frank vibes.

Hudson selected the Alessandra Rich printed mini dress for her night as hostess with the mostest. The silk frock features a high turtleneck, embellished crystal buttons and slight puff sleeves. It also comes with a waist cinching velvet belt with rhinestone buckle. It’s so loud and so ’80s, but we totally love it.

You may recognize the designer as the one who created that blue-and-white polka-dot dress that was worn by not only Kate Middleton and Abigail Spencer but also Sarah Jessica Parker, Daisy Ridley and Christie Brinkley. Sadly, Hudson’s animal print number, which is from the spring/summer 2020 collection, is sold out.

However, we did find some similar options for those looking to take a walk on the wild side. ASOS’s Verona long sleeve maxi tea dress in lilac leopard print ($87) is a fun option, as is the GCDS leopard print midi dress ($569; $512). And the Rahi Sophie animal-print mini dress ($128) may not be purple, but it’s still just as flirty.

Hudson completed her night-out look with diamond chandelier earrings, black pointed-toe pumps, purple eyeshadow and a sleek middle-parted low bun for a dose of minimalism.

As former Lisa Frank aficionados, we definitely approve.
