Kate Middleton Just Stepped Out in Her Biggest Statement Hat Ever — with Feathers!

Kate Middleton is adding another feather in her cap when it comes to her impeccable style.

The royal mom of three, 37, stepped out on Thursday to honor fallen Australian and New Zealand veterans during the annual Anzac Day service at Westminster Abbey wearing a brand new ensemble. While Kate is known to love recycling her favorite outfits, she opted for a new bespoke teal coat dress by Catherine Walker & Co, featuring three large buttons and a raised neckline.

But it was Kate’s headpiece that really turned heads. The teal fascinator by milliner Rosie Olivia perfectly matched her coat. The almond-shaped hat, which retails for $566, features a curled pheasant feather trim.

The royal carried a green clutch and wore matching heels, both complementing the feathers on her hat, to complete the elegant look. She also wore blue topaz Kiki Classic earrings and an Eden necklace in white gold and sported a red poppy pin on her jacket, a symbol used since 1921 to commemorate military members who have died in war.

While it was previously announced that Kate would step out on Thursday for the annual service at Westminster Abbey – the very spot where she and Prince William tied the knot nearly eight years ago, on April 29, 2011 – royal fans were pleasantly surprised to see her brother-in-law, Prince Harry, join her.

With Meghan Markle due to give birth any day to their first child, a source tells PEOPLE that Harry hoped to participate in the service, yet precautions were made in case the baby arrived.

Harry is “pleased he can attend today’s service, as planned,” the insider says. “With their baby due, his name was not printed in the program in case he was unable to do so.”

Meanwhile, Kate’s husband Prince William arrived in New Zealand on April 25. He began his trip by joining Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern for a civic service at the Auckland War Memorial Museum, where he wore a navy suit with a matching red and navy striped tie. William also displayed two medals of honor and a red pin on his jacket pocket.

At one point, William got up to place a wreath at the bottom of the monument in honor of all the fallen soldiers, where he stood for a moment to bow his head in respect.

On the decorative wreath, William left a note that read, “We will never forget the sacrifice of the Anzacs. With deep gratitude, William,” according to stuff.co.nz.
