Kate Middleton to Represent Royal Family at Memorial Service — as William Travels to New Zealand

Royal fans won’t have to wait long to see Kate Middleton on royal duty again.

The royal mother of three, 37, will honor fallen Australian and New Zealand veterans during the annual Anzac Day Service of Commemoration and Thanksgiving at Westminster Abbey on Thursday, April 25.

The day of remembrance commemorates the first major battle involving Australian and New Zealand forces during World War I. It has been honored in London since the first anniversary of the Anzac landings at Gallipoli in 1916, when King George V attended a service at Westminster Abbey.

Meanwhile, her husband Prince William will arrive in New Zealand on April 25. He will begin his trip in Auckland before continuing onto Christchurch, where the 36-year-old royal will spend time meeting the survivors of the mosques terrorist attack along with their families, first responders and Muslim community leaders. (The trip has some wondering if William will miss the birth of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle‘s first child, which is due to arrive any day now!)

Last year, Kate missed the Anzac Day service – but with good reason! The day of remembrance came just two days after she welcomed her third child, Prince Louis.

Prince William attended the solemn service with Meghan and Harry. However, the royal dad couldn’t hide the effects of having a newborn at home, closing his eyes and appearing to momentarily doze off during the ceremony.

Kate’s last royal engagement was her visit to the Scouts’ headquarters on March 28, where she joined in on a number of sessions with the kids, including activities to improve communication and teamwork, such as boat building and balloon rocket assembling. She even climbed into a den built using outdoor materials!

The royal mom has been spending time with her three children, including a trip with Prince George, 5, and Princess Charlotte, 3, to the Burnham Market international horse trials in Norfolk – not far from their country home Amner Hall, on the Sandringham estate – over the weekend. They enjoyed the outdoors – and the kids even rode on bumper cars – with William’s first cousin Zara Tindall and her family.
